POLICY RELATING TO THE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENT OF TORREVIEJA BEACHES

The Town Council of Torrevieja has set up a system of management of the quality of the town's beaches. In cases of the beaches of La Mata, Cabo Cervera, Los Locos, El Cura, Los Náufragos and Cala Pitera, the management system is based upon the International regulations: UNE-EN ISO 14001 and UNE-EN ISO 9001, re-enforcing the management of Cabo Cervera, Los Náufrgos and Cala Pitera in accordance with regulation UNE 187001:2008. The object is to maintain the quality of the town's beaches according to these International regulations and to ensure the satisfaction or the users of the beaches.

Through the implantation of this system of management, the Town Council aims to improve services and increment user satisfaction, at the same time preserving the eco-systems and natural values of our beaches. This is to be achieved by establishing the technical means, finance and human resources necessary to prevent contamination by reducing the consequences of the public use of the beaches.

The Town Council will continue to monitor all activities taking place on the beaches and to establish a mechanism to further improve the management system in place in collaboration with all sectors, thereby ensuring the future development and improvement of the environmental quality of the beaches and the servicies offered to users.

The Town Council announces its firm commitment to ensure that all activities taking place on the beaches comply with the international regulations and other voluntary controls, through the active participation of the personnel involved in the management or the beaches as well as the users themselves, through various campaigns of awareness and Information.
Periodic revision and communication will permit the monitoring of the aims and objectives and evaluate the level of their completion. The Town Council offers a firm compromise to continue to strive for improvement in the management of the town's beaches.

To this effect, documented plans of action, periodically revised, will permit the continual revision of the results produced.
